Social Advocacy as an Attorney with Attorney James Barton

James Barton is a civil rights-focused attorney who represents labor unions, civic engagement and tax-exempt corporations, political action committees, and other organizations that promote or challenge Arizona ballot measures. He has worked with multiple ballot measure clients including Arizonans for Fair Elections (2020), Arizonans for Fair Lending (2020), Arizonans Fed Up with Failing Healthcare (2020), Clean Energy for a Healthy Arizona (2018), Invest in Education (2018) and Arizonans for Fair Wages and Healthy Families (2016). He has also fought to increase minimum wage and other progressive platforms in Arizona.

We have asked Jim to talk about his advocacy and how we as progressive attorneys can make a difference in our communities. This will be our pilot program event for this semester, and we are excited to learn from him and hear how we as attorneys can be advocates for what is right! We are planning a nice lunch for attendees and are hoping for 50+ attendees.
