Notre Dame Honors Joaquin Castro

The Notre Dame Hispanic Law Student Association will honor Joaquin Castro of the U.S. House of Representatives, with the Graciela Olivárez award. HLSA annually recognizes and outstanding Hispanic lawyer that best exemplifies the principles and ideals of the pioneer for whom this award is named, including commitment to community service, demonstration of the highest ethical and moral standards, and dedication to justice. 

HLSA is honoring Rep. Castro for his work against the border wall, his work to stop migrant children being separated at the border, and his stance on ICE. He will speak on those topics during the award presentation.
