National Opioid Litigation: America’s Opioid Epidemic

Maurer School of Law, Bloomington, IN

The American Constitution Society is pleased to welcome national drug policy expert, Regina LaBelle, for a conversation about the origins of the current opioid epidemic and multi-district litigation pending against Purdue Pharma. Regina LaBelle is the former Chief of Staff of the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy and current Director of the Addiction and Public Policy Initiative at Georgetown University Law Center’s O’Neill Institute. She also appears regularly in national media outlets. This timely conversation comes as some 1,600 cases against Purdue Pharma and other opioid manufacturers and distributors have been transferred to U.S. District Judge Dan Polster in the United States Northern District of Ohio, with two bellwether cases expected to begin in October.

Food will be provided.
