Lincoln Paint-a-thon

Every year, Paint-a-thon selects applications who are elderly or disabled and in need of help and deploys volunteers around the city to fix up and re-paint their homes. This year the Nebraska ACS chapter has offered to sponsor a house. The executive board will select the paint color with the homeowner, prep the house the day before, and organize volunteers on paint day. The program supplies the paint and caulking, and volunteers are in charge of the rest (think brushes, rollers, trays, ladders, etc.). This is a great opportunity for us to meet the incoming 1Ls before they officially start their first semester - Paint-a-thon is traditionally the first UNL Law School event and many professors participate, so 1Ls are eager to jump in and make connections. Every year, the school has about 2 houses and has 15-25 volunteers per shift with three shifts total.
