Law and Democracy Series: The FBI Search of Mar-a-Lago – The 4th Amendment, FBI Procedure and Politics

Auditorium, Lincoln, NE

The use of a search warrant by the FBI is a common investigative tool. It entails developing “probable cause” as required by the 4th Amendment, documenting that probable cause in an affidavit, swearing to the veracity of that affidavit before a US Magistrate Judge and then executing that warrant – conducting the search.

Greg Stejskal, ‘74, special agent of the FBI for 31 years, will discuss FBI search warrant procedures and protocols and what happens when a search and its aftermath are critiqued on the world stage.

Program presented as part of the College of Law's Law and Democracy Series.
