La Separación de Poderes en el Contexto Actual

A panel discussion to examine the contemporary challenges facing the principle of separation of powers, with a particular focus on how recent decisions and actions by former President Donald Trump have impacted this foundational element of the U.S. constitutional system. The conversation also considered how these shifts in federal governance dynamics might echo in the political and legal context of Puerto Rico.

The event featured a distinguished panel of experts who offered valuable insights drawn from their academic, legal, and political experience. Among the panelists was Professor William Vázquez Irizarry, a tenured faculty member known for his expertise in constitutional and administrative law. Also participating was Professor Aníbal Acevedo Vilá, former Governor of Puerto Rico and current university professor, whose contributions bridged both theoretical analysis and firsthand political experience. Rounding out the panel was Professor Emmalind García García, known for her expertise in administrative and labor law.
