El Derecho a la Vivienda en Puerto Rico
ACS Pilot Program Spring 2025:
A panel discussion that delves into the fundamental Right to Housing in Puerto Rico—an issue that lies at the heart of social justice, community preservation, and human dignity. Together, we explored the legal, social, and emotional dimensions of forced displacement through a powerful and deeply personal lens.
This important conversation featured a distinguished panel of guests who bring both expertise and lived experience to the table. Ms. Ramona Cruz, a courageous community member and victim of expropriation, who will share her story of resilience in the face of displacement. Accompanying her is Attorney Ariadna Godreau, who represented Ms. Cruz in her legal battle and provided critical legal context to the discussion. We also had Mr. Sebastián Castrodad Reverón, filmmaker and creator of the documentary that brings Ramona’s story to life, highlighting the broader implications of her case for Puerto Rican society. The conversation was moderated by Adianez Vélez, a passionate and insightful student voice who guided the dialogue with care and purpose.
