Comment Party

Rutgers Law School Faculty Lounge, Camden, NJ

Join the ACS as we host a Comment Writing Party in response to regulations proposing the Indefinite Detainment of Immigrant Children

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) seek comment by November 6th on a proposed amendment to circumvent the Flores settlement agreement, which set terms for the care and release of minors in the custody of immigration authorities. The proposed rules would allow minors to be held indefinitely along with their parents and threatens to eliminate current health and safety protections for children.

Learn how you can take action on Thursday November 1st during a Comment Writing Party hosted by The American Constitution Society of Law and Policy (ACS) from 4:30pm-6:00pm in the Faculty Lounge. To ensure your comment counts, Immigration Advocates and administrative law experts will briefly explain 1.) notice and comment rulemaking, 2.) the regulation and its impact; and 3.) how you can submit a unique comment to help policy makers improve federal regulations.

Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact RUlawACS@gmail.com
