Challenging Wisconsin's Lame-Duck Legislation: A Conversation with Attorney Jeffrey Mandell

University of Wisconsin Law School, Lubar Commons, Room 7200, Madison, Wisconsin

Soon after the 2018 election, the Wisconsin Legislature convened a controversial “extraordinary session” to attack voting rights, strip healthcare from fellow Wisconsinites, and limit the power of the attorney general. Dubbed “The Wisconsin Power Grab,” Governor Walker signed these bills into law before leaving office.

That lame-duck session now faces a constitutional challenge from the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, Disability Rights Wisconsin, Black Leaders Organizing For Communities, and others.

Join the American Constitution Society, the nation’s leading progressive legal network, for a discussion on the constitutional issues raised in the pending suit. We will be joined by Professor Robert Yablon and Jeffrey Mandell, a partner at Stafford Rosenbaum, and the chair of the Madison Lawyer Chapter of ACS.
