ACS WashU Law - ACS x CLS Missouri State Public Defenders Panel

CLS and ACS are excited to host our annual panel of local Missouri state public defenders. The panel will be moderated by Hannah Vaughn, MSPD's Recruitment Coordinator. Panelists will represent several specialized areas of public criminal defense practice, including juvenile defense, capital habeas representation, and line trial practice. Attorneys will share insights related to the minute ways public defenders can (and must) preserve client dignity and autonomy; provide holistic defense to support forms of social disadvantage that interact with indigence (inconsistent housing, substance use, literacy, mental illness, etc.); and legal strategy at every state of representation. 

Students will have the opportunity to ask the panel questions about essential practical components of public defense practice in Missouri. Lunch will be provided!
