ACS San Diego: Gender Equity in Big Law

Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP, San Diego, CA

Registration for this event has now closed.

Recent lawsuits filed by female plaintiffs against several Big Law firms allege gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, and unequal pay. ABA statistics indicate that despite comprising over 47% of the law student enrollment since 2001, and over 50% since 2016, women still make up less than 20% of equity partners at law firms.

Join the San Diego Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society, the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association, the Lawyers Club of San Diego, Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego, the National Lawyers Guild, San Diego La Raza Lawyers, and the San Diego County Bar Association's Disability Interest Group and Committee on Diversity and Inclusion for a panel to discuss the recent lawsuits that advance gender equality and representation in the legal profession.

Featuring:

Orly Lobel, Don Weckstein Professor of Labor and Employment Law, University of San Diego School of Law; Member, ACS San Diego Lawyer Chapter Board of Advisors

Regina Petty, Partner and Chief Diversity Officer, Fisher Phillips LLP

David Sanford, Chairman, Sanford Heisler Sharp LLP

Discussion will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a reception to follow at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by ACS.

RSVP is strictly required for this event. Building security will not admit attendees not on the registration list.
