ACS Milwaukee: What comes Next? A Panel Discussion on the Direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court
As the campaign ads, flyers, debates, and rallies from the 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court race fade away, all eyes now turn to how the soon-to-be newly constituted Wisconsin Supreme Court will govern.
Please join the ACS Milwaukee Lawyer Chapter, the Milwaukee Bar Association, and the Federalist Society Milwaukee Lawyer Chapter for a panel discussion that will begin with an administrative overview (How many cases a year will our Supreme Court take?) and will explore how the new court may address issues likely to arise in the coming years, including interpretive methodology and equal protection under the Wisconsin Constitution, separation of powers, and stare decisis, dicta, and Cook v. Cook. The panel features state supreme court advocates who have represented clients with interests that span the ideological spectrum and is moderated by Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Michael Hanrahan.
Featuring:
Erin Deeley, Partner at Stafford Rosenbaum LLP; Board Member, ACS Madison Lawyer Chapter
Matthew Fernholz, Partner at Cramer Multhauf LLP
Hannah Jurss, Assistant Attorney General for the Wisconsin Department of Justice
Ryan Walsh, Partner at Eimer Stahl LLP
Moderated by:
Hon. Michael Hanrahan, Judge, Milwaukee Circuit Court
