ACS Iowa: "Fail State" Screening and Panel Discussion

Sussman Theater, Olmsted Center, Des Moines, IA

Join the ACS Iowa Lawyer Chapter, the ACS Drake Law School Student Chapter, the Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement, and Student Defense for a screening and panel discussion of the award-winning documentary Fail State.

Executive produced by news legend Dan Rather, Fail State investigates the dark side of American higher education, chronicling the decades of policy decisions in Washington, DC that have given rise to a powerful and highly-predatory for-profit college industry. With echoes of the subprime mortgage crisis, the film lays bare how for-profit colleges exploit millions of low-income and minority students, leaving them with worthless degrees and drowning in student loan debt.

Featuring:

Hon. Tom Harkin, Former United States Senator from Iowa

Hon. Tom Miller, Attorney General of Iowa

Alexander Shebanow, Director, Fail State
