ACS Arizona: Dobbs and the Impact on LGBT Rights

Please join the Arizona Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society and the Arizona LGBT Bar on August 30 at 3 pm (Arizona Time) for a panel discussion of the potential impact on LGBT rights of the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. While Justice Alito's majority opinion disclaimed a reach beyond the context of abortion, it arguably called into question the underpinnings of landmark decisions such as Lawrence v. Texas and Obergefell v. Hodges. Likewise concerning, Justice Thomas' concurring opinion took square aim at both Lawrence and Obergefell. The distinguished panelists who will discuss where the law is headed include:

Julianna Gonen, Federal Policy Director, National Center for Lesbian Rights

Kell Olson, Staff Attorney, Western Regional Office, Los Angeles, California and Tucson, Arizona, Lambda Legal

Neil Siegel, David W. Ichel Professor of Law and Director of the Summer Institute on Law and Policy, Duke Law School

Moderator

Randy McDonald, Director, Post-Conviction Clinic, Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law
