A Crash Course on Substantive Due Process

Eck 1130, Notre Dame, Indiana

Roe v. Wade, Griswold v. Connecticut, Lawrence v. Texas, Loving v. Virginia. Recently, we heard these and other case names thrown around in Judge Jackson's hearings with great conviction. Commentators have weighed in with dramatic predictions about where the Supreme Court is headed. What are we to make of all this?

Join us for the final ACS Notre Dame program this semester: A Crash Course on Substantive Due Process with NDLS Professors Jennifer Mason McAward and Jay Tidmarsh. With the changing legal landscape around abortion in mind, Professors McAward and Tidmarsh will introduce us to the key ideas we need to know to understand the debates around the controversial Fourteenth Amendment doctrine of substantive due process.

We will gather over lunch on Monday, April 11, at 12:30pm in Eck 1130. Many thanks to the Klau Center for Civil & Human Rights for co-sponsoring this event.
