ACS National Convention 2013 was a success!
The 2013 ACS National Convention has officially ended and more than 1,000 of the nation's leading lawyers, judges, law students, policymakers, scholars and activists attended. The convention provided a unique opportunity to be inspired by progressive leaders from around the country while learning more about the pressing legal issues of the day. This year's convention included panel discussions on a wide range of topics including political equality, the courts and social change, reclaiming Gideon, the Second Amendment and gun safety regulations, class actions, money in state court politics, immigration, national security, and much more.
The 2013 National Convention Gala Dinner featured remarks by U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Jeff Merkley.
Our exciting speakers (see video here), included former U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Jeff Merkley, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, and Acting Associate Attorney General Tony West. We also honored our 2013 Progressive Champions, U.S. Representative John Lewis and Microsoft General Counsel and Executive Vice President, Legal and Corporate Affairs, Brad Smith.
