Washington, D.C. – The 8-member U.S. Supreme Court today was unable to render a precedent-setting decision in United States v. Texas.

American Constitution Society for Law and Policy President Caroline Fredrickson made the following statement:

“Today’s non-decision is yet another in a growing list of reasons why it’s imperative for the Senate to take its job seriously and hold hearings and a vote for Merrick Garland. The Supreme Court is obviously hobbled, and Americans will continue to suffer the consequences as this judicial crisis continues.”
