Private: Dr. Rehnquist meet Dr. Cooper

Yesterday, Chief Justice William Rehnquist received an honorary doctorate in political science from Grand Canyon University. Last year, Grand Canyon University, a Christian liberal arts college in Phoenix, presented Alice Cooper with an honorary doctorate in music.
Rehnquist was not able to attend the ceremony in person due to his health, but told an audience of 15,000 people in a videotaped messages, "I want to say it's a great honor to receive this honorary degree from Grand Canyon University. I lived in Phoenix for 15 years. And I know what good work the university does. I shall always be honored for having received the degree and I thank you for it." Rehnquist kept speculators guessing by not mentioning his health or future plans.
Also receiving honorary degrees this year were Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Naomi Judd.
