Judge Eunice C. Lee was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit in August 2021. From 1998 to 2019, Judge Lee worked at the Office of the Appellate Defender in New York City, where she represented indigent clients on appeal at all levels of the New York state court system and in habeas proceedings in federal court. Judge Lee was an assistant federal defender in the appeals bureau of the Federal Defenders of New York from 2019 until her appointment to the bench. She received her J.D. in 1996 from Yale Law School.
