Rebecca Kelly Slaughter ’08 is a former Commissioner and Acting Chair of the Federal Trade Commission, where she focused on competition, consumer protection, privacy, and workers’ rights. Before joining the FTC in 2018, Slaughter served as Chief Counsel to U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, advising on competition, telecommunications, privacy, consumer protection, and intellectual property policy. She previously practiced law at Sidley Austin in Washington, D.C. Slaughter received her B.A. from Yale University and her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she served as an editor of the Yale Law Journal.
