A state attorney’s general duty to protect the public interest has frequently involved protecting voters and elections. State AGs have a variety of tools to help ensure that all eligible Americans can vote and that their votes will be counted. That work has intensified with a President and federal administration that has been working to prevent eligible Americans from registering to vote, keep them from voting, and prevent their votes from being counted.
