GMU Law School - Constitutional War Powers & the Iran Conflict
Join us as we welcome George Mason Law Professor Ilya Somin to discuss constitutional war powers and the legal landscape of the ongoing conflict in Iran. Professor Somin will analyze the limits of Article II authority and evaluate whether current institutional guardrails are effectively preventing executive overreach on the global stage. The lecture will also explore how the legal theories from his successful litigation against executive tariff power might be applied to restrain unilateral presidential action in the context of modern warfare.
