Brest, a veteran of countless judicial confirmation battles, served as a Special Assistant to President Biden and a senior White House counsel, Chief Nominations Counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Chief Counsel for Senator Dianne Feinstein prior to his appointment as ACS president earlier this year.
