Cato's Quandary at the Constitutional Convention: Trading One Tyrant for Another

Hazel Hall, 121, Arlington, VA

The event will be a discussion with Professor Daniel Hamilton, distinguished visiting professor at GMU, about the ratification of the Constitution with a focus on how the Constitution was only ratified with the prospect of the bill of rights to push back against an abuse of extreme federal power, of which we are witnessing under the current administration. The event will discuss the current application of these ideas and explore how the Framer's may not have perfected a system under the Constitution. There will be no RSVP status required or co-sponsors for this event.
