Zoom with Ruth Lowenkron, Esq. of the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and Mark Joyce, Esq of Disability Rights Maine on "Class, Race, Civil Rights and Mental Health Law." NYC's disability rights community is in crisis because of a change in the interpretation of the mental health code allowing police officers to just "sweep the streets" of people. We will discuss the litigation to protect the public there and the policies in Maine regarding forced treatment and hospitalization.
