Empowering State and Local Governments to Fight for Justice

Room 128, New Haven, CT

YLS grad Jill Habig will discuss the ways state and local governments can be a locus for progressive policymaking and how she decided to focus her energy on empowering that work. Jill is the founder of the Public Rights Project, a nonprofit organization that helps state and local governments build their capacity for affirmative litigation and advocacy. She has also worked as an attorney and a political strategist, including as the Deputy Campaign Manager and Policy Director for Kamala Harris for U.S. Senate. ACS, SFALP, CRP, YLW, and YLS Dems are cosponsoring the event, and Thai Basil will be served.
