Using Your Law Degree to Impact Policy

Nebraska College of Law Auditorium, Lincoln, Nebraska

The event will be a lunchtime panel featuring alumni of Nebraska College of Law who have used their law degrees to work in policy. We currently have three speakers committed to appearing on the panel: Sarah Ann Kotchian, Omaid Zabih and Renee Fry. Ms. Kotchian has spent the past fourteen years working in children's issues-related policy, having most recently spent five years with the Nebraska-focused Holland Children's Movement. Mr. Zabih is Federal Policy Director for Nebraska Appleseed, a Lincoln-based nonprofit focusing on making progressive change on issues like child welfare, immigration policy, affordable health care, and poverty. Ms. Fry is Founder and Director of the Open Sky Institute, a non-partisan Nebraska organization dedicated to fiscal research and analysis. We are planning on determining a fourth panelist as well, and have a list of alumni working in policy to choose from.
