Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn on Judicial Independence in West Virginia

We are pleased to welcome United States Magistrate Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn from the Southern District of West Virginia. In addition to discussing his own experience on the bench, Judge Aboulhosn will provide an overview of the unprecedented action and aftermath of the West Virginia legislature's August 2018 move to impeach the entire state Supreme Court, which implicates not only concerns over corruption but also issues of judicial independence and the influence of partisanship on the institution.
