Dissecting the NSA Review Group Report: Liberty and Security in a Changing World

National Security Agency, NSA, Peter Swire, President Obama

Amanda Simon

Washington, D.C. – Just weeks ago, an elite five person Review Group appointed by President Obama issued a highly anticipated report, “Liberty and Security in a Changing World.”  The report, a 300-page compilation of 46 separate recommendations, calls for major reforms to the recently exposed and hotly debated National Security Administration’s surveillance and data mining program.

On Wednesday, January 29, the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (ACS) will host a call with, Peter Swire, a member of the Review Group to discuss its findings. Swire will discuss the program, the administration’s reaction to the report, and how the report and its recommendations could impact democratic governance, national security, privacy rights and pending cases in the courts.
