Dissecting the NSA Review Group Report


Just weeks ago, an elite five-person Review Group appointed by the President issued a highly anticipated report, “Liberty and Security in a Changing World.” The report, a 300-page compilation of 46 separate recommendations, calls for major reforms to the recently exposed and hotly debated National Security Administration’s surveillance and data mining program. Peter Swire, a member of the Review Group and esteemed privacy expert, discussed the program, the administration’s reaction to the report, and how the report and its recommendations could impact democratic governance, national security, privacy rights, and pending cases in the courts.
