Assistant Director of Chapters
Michelle Herd joined ACS in January 2019 and currently serves as Assistant Director of Chapters. In this role, she assists in cultivating and supporting the next generation of progressive leaders, promoting diversity and inclusion throughout our network, seeking opportunities to found new ACS chapters, and build sustainable relationships with lawyers, judges, and community partners to further the mission of ACS.
Before attending law school, Herd served as a committee assistant in the office of the City Council President for the City of Birmingham, Alabama and worked in sustainable agriculture.
Herd graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a B.A. in English. She earned her J.D. from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law where she was the President of the Cumberland ACS Student Chapter. She is an ACS Next Generation Leader. She has studied abroad twice in the Republic of Panama.
