Come hear Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner describe his work as one of the most progressive DAs in the country and the progress two years into his administration. Larry Krasner was sworn in on January 2, 2018, as Philadelphia’s 26th District Attorney. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Chicago in 1983 and his law degree from Stanford Law School in 1987. He worked as a public defender in Philadelphia from ’87 – ’91, was promoted to the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Philadelphia (’91- ’93), then started his own private practice in 1993, specializing in criminal defense and police misconduct matters for the next 25 years. As DA, he has worked to end mass incarceration through bail reform, reducing lengthy probation and prison sentences, expanding diversion programs, and several other initiatives.
