Lena Zwarensteyn joined ACS in 2014 and currently serves as the Director of Strategic Engagement. She oversees the organization's work on judicial nominations and why courts matter. Lena is responsible for cultivating opportunities for engagement around the courts and helps support the overall work of the organization.
Before joining ACS, Lena served the Senior Director of Government Relations at Jumpstart for Young Children, Inc. where she oversaw the national organization's government relations efforts on issues related to early childhood education, higher education affordability and national and community service. She crafted and led successful federal, state and local legislative, funding and regulatory campaigns to increase government support for and investment in the organization's program and mission. Lena started her career in the government relations department at Planned Parenthood Federation of America helping coordinate the organization's federal legislative and regulatory work.
Lena graduated from Michigan State University College of Law, where she founded and chaired the law school's student chapter of ACS. She also is a graduate of Wellesley College where she majored in Political Science and Japanese Studies.
