Jenni Katzman, Director of Policy and Program

Jenni Katzman joined ACS in 2017 and currently serves as Director of Policy and Program. In this role, she oversees the development of policy related to a wide range of democracy and voting and equality and liberty issues. She works directly with scholars, experts and advocates to draft issue briefs and blog posts and collaborates with and directs relationships with various coalition partners. Jenni also develops and implements national programming related to her portfolios.

Before joining ACS, Jenni served in various positions in the Obama Administration. She was a Senior Policy Advisor to the Deputy Secretary at the US Department of Education. Prior to that, Jenni was a Senior Policy Advisor at the White House Domestic Policy Council. Jenni also served at the US Department of Justice as Senior Counsel in the Office for Access to Justice. In these roles, she advanced policy related to voting and civil rights.

Before joining the Obama Administration, Jenni served as the National Voter Protection Counsel for Obama for America. Jenni also practiced as an associate at Steptoe & Johnson LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP. She clerked for the Honorable Brian M. Cogan in the Eastern District of New York.

Jenni graduated from Cornell Law School magna cum laude in 2005 and from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy in 2002.
