2011 ACS Convention Scholarship Application Form
DUE April 30, 2011 (LATE Applications Accepted from students who will graduate from law school in 2012 & 2013 Only!)

The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy places enormous value on the participation of law students at our annual National Convention. The National Convention provides an invaluable opportunity for national student members to interact with judges, lawyers, policymakers and fellow law students.

Student volunteers play a vital role at the Convention by assisting the staff in many capacities. To help students attend the 10th Annual Convention, ACS will provide lodging, travel and/or registration scholarships to those willing to volunteer up to five hours AND attend our Student Retreat on June 18, 2011. NOTE: The exact time and volunteer assignments will be designated by the ACS staff closer to the time of the Convention, so you must be available and at the Convention from Thursday afternoon through Saturday night.

To volunteer and apply for a scholarship, please complete the online application below. Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis. Results will be sent to all applicants no later than May 13, 2011.

Scholarship packages will contain lodging, travel monies, or a full waiver of the convention registration fee ($175). Scholarships will vary based on the information you provide below. Thus, please fill out the form completely and accurately. This scholarship is not intended to cover the entire cost of your travel or stay. It will most often only defray your costs.

After the Convention, ACS will reimburse those students awarded travel scholarships up to the pre-approved amount of money for travel expenses, which may include airfare, trainfare, gas mileage, etc. It is the responsibility of those awarded scholarships to make their own travel arrangements and then submit receipts to the ACS National office after the Convention.

To be eligible for a scholarship, students must be current dues-paying members of ACS. If you have not yet paid your 2011 national dues, please do so before submitting your application. Dues may be paid online by visiting the “JOIN ACS” box on the left side of this screen. Those who apply for scholarships should not register for the Convention at this time. Students will receive registration information and instructions within their award email.
