ACS Colorado Lawyer Chapter presents "A Special Screening of 'A Class Apart'"

Equal Justice Society, the Hispanic National Bar Foundation, LatinoJustice PRLDEF, the Latino Law Students Association of the University of Colorado Law School, Latino Public Broadcasting and Public Broadcasting System present “A Special Screening of ‘A Class Apart,’” with opening remarks by The Honorable Federico F. Pena, United States Secretary of Energy (1997-1998); United States Secretary of Transportation (1993-1997); and Mayor of the City of Denver (1983-1991). A discussion panel following the film will include Nita Gonzales, President and CEO of Escuela Tlatelolco and Former Co-chair, Latino Education Organization; Cipriano Griego, National Vice Commander, American GI Forum; Melissa Hart, Associate Professor of Law, University of Colorado Law School; Howie Movshovitz, Film Critic, Colorado Public Radio and Director of Film Education, College of Arts & Media, University of Colorado at Denver; Carlos Sandoval, Producer and Director, A Class Apart and Recipient of the Sundance Special Jury Prize (2004) for his film Farmingville. The panel will be moderated by The Honorable Carlos F. Lucero, Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. The event will occur on Thursday, April 23, 2009, with a reception at 5:00 p.m. and film screening at 6:00 p.m., at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, 2255 E. Evans Avenue, Denver, CO.
