ACS Connecticut Lawyer Chapter presents, "The AIG Bonuses: What Does the Law Say and What Else Can Be Done?"
On Monday, March 23, the ACS Connecticut Lawyer Chapter hosted a panel discussion entitled "The AIG Bonuses: What Does the Law Say and What Else Can Be Done?" at the Connecticut State Capitol. Panelists included labor law expert Bernard E. Jacques, constitutional scholar and Quinnipiac Law School Professor William V. Dunlap, and The Honorable Robert Duff, Connecticut State Senator and Co-chair of the Banks Committee of the Connecticut General Assembly, which is investigating the controversial bonuses. The discussion ranged from the policy behind the Banks Committee inquiry, to the constitutional questions raised by the federal and state efforts to tax the bonuses, as well as AIG's efforts to justify the bonuses under the Connecticut Fair Wage Act. The panel was very well attended and drew the attention of nine different media outlets, including all three major Connecticut television news stations, the Connecticut Network and the Associated Press.
