Death & American Criminal Justice
May 1 2008 - 6:10pm
Come hear Stephen Bright, YLS Lecturer and Supreme Court litigator, discuss his experiences representing indigent defendants sentenced to die. Most recently, he argued for the defendant in Snyder v. Louisiana, in which the Court, by a 7-2 margin, found impermissible race discrimination by the prosecutor in jury selection. Prof. Bright will discuss inequalities in the American criminal justice and the need for more dedicated young attorneys in the field.
