On April 5th, the Milwaukee Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society hosted a spectacular event, marking the chapter's successful first year. The well attended event featured former Congressman and current Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and keynote speaker Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI). Lisa Brown and Milwaukee Chapter Leader Gwendolyn G. Connolly also made remarks. Senator Feingold's speech focused on several recent controversies which have been recently probed by Congress, including the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys, the Inspector General's report finding that the FBI illegally issued National Security Letters, and the Administration's warantless wiretapping program. Members joined together for a reception following the event.
