Video available from Conference on Elections and Democracy
On April 6-7, 2007, ACS, the Stanford Constitutional Law Center, the Stanford Law and Policy Review, and the Stanford ACS and Federalist Society student chapters hosted a "Conference on Elections and Democracy." The conference was held at Stanford Law School and focused on issues pertaining to election participation (including fraud and corruption), voter ID requirements, the use of new voting equipment after the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), campaign finance reform, and voter representation (including redistricting and the renewal of the Voting Rights Act). The conference also featured an examination of the US electoral system through an international lens, addressing approaches to voting, districting and election financing in other democracies.
