Soul of Justice: Thelton Henderson's American Journey

The New York Lawyer Chapter hosted a film screening of Soul of Justice: Thelton Henderson’s American Journey on February 28, 2007. The event was co-sponsored by the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.; the Metropolitan Black Bar Association; the Association of Black Women Attorneys; and New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. The film examines the inspiring work of one the first African-American federal judges in the United States and chronicles the impact of his decisions on the lives of millions. In addition to the screening, attendees heard remarks by Derrick Bell Visiting Professor, New York University School of Law; The Honorable Laura Taylor Swain U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York; The Honorable Thelton Henderson, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York; Lisa Brown, Executive Director of the American Constitution Society; and Abby Ginzberg, Soul of Justice Filmmaker.
