The American Constitution Society for Law & Policy and Judge Cudahy’s clerks and staff are pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Richard D. Cudahy Competition on Regulatory and Administrative Law. In the competition’s third year, we received numerous pieces from both students and lawyers, which consistently exceeded our expectations in quality and originality, and successfully reflected Judge Cudahy’s ongoing legacy of substantive and insightful scholarship on regulatory and administrative law.
The winners were announced at the ACS National Convention on June 17th. These winners are:
- Student Category -- "University Research Under Siege: How the War on Terror Has Placed Academic Freedom Under Fire" by James S. Lessard-Templin
- Lawyer Category -- "Privatization’s Pretensions" by Jon D. Michaels (final version, edited for publication in the The University of Chicago Law Review)
Admissions for the 2011 competition will be accepted starting in the fall (announcement to come), and we encourage you to participate. Please see http://www.acslaw.org/cudahycompetition for rules and information.
