
The Fall 2010 Program Guide will focus on issues surrounding the judicial nomination and confirmation process. These issues include the importance of judicial diversity and the background of judicial nominees; potential problems and pitfalls during the confirmation process, including the filibuster and anonymous holds; the importance of judges in faithfully implementing Congressional legislation and administrative regulation; and how courts impact the lives of real people in areas like employment discrimination, healthcare, and the environment. The program guide will assist chapters in planning events on all aspects of the appointments process, and will include a list of experts who may be interested in participating in a program.
