Soul of Justice: Thelton Henderson's American Journey

The Philadelphia Lawyer Chapter film screening of Soul of Justice: Thelton Henderson’s American Journey on January 29, 2007 was a success! The event was co-sponsored by the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy, the Barrister's Association of Philadelphia and the National Lawyer's Guild. The film examines the inspiring work of one the first African-American federal judges in the United States and chronicles the impact of his decisions on the lives of millions. In addition to the screening, attendees heard remarks by Lisa Brown, Executive Director of the American Constitution Society; Judge Theodore McKee with the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit; Judge Louis Pollak with the U.S. District Court, Eastern Disctrict of Pennsylvania; and Abby Ginzberg, Soul of Justice Filmmaker.

Philadelphia Chapters Host Lawyer/Student Happy Hour with Judge Theodore McKee on 2/9/06

On February 9th, 2006, over 70 lawyers and law students from the Philadelphia region gathered at a Center City pub for a networking happy hour sponsored by the ACS Philadelphia Lawyer Chapter. Attendees included law students from Temple, Penn, Villanova and Rutgers-Camden law schools, along with federal and state law clerks and lawyers working in government, private practice and the public interest sector. Participants socialized and shared news about the projects and events on which each of the local ACS chapters are working this spring. Attendees were also treated to inspiring remarks shared by the Honorable Theodore A. McKee from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
