The Michigan Lawyer Chapter film screening of Soul of Justice: Thelton Henderson’s American Journey on January 17, 2007 was a success! The event was co-sponsored by the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy, the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, the Wolverine Bar Association, the National Lawyers Guild, and the Association of Black Judges of Michigan. The film examines the inspiring work of one the first African-American federal judges in the United States and chronicles the impact of his decisions on the lives of millions. In addition to the screening, attendees heard remarks by Juanita Moore, President and Chief Executive Officer, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History; Michael Lee, ACS Michigan Lawyer Chapter; Judge Denise Page Hood, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; Lisa Brown, Executive Director, American Constitution Society; and Abby Ginzberg, Soul of Justice Filmmaker/Director.
