On Tuesday, November 20, 2007, The Indianapolis Lawyer Chapter presented "Designing a New Constitution: Challenges for a Future Burmese Democracy and Lessons for American Lawyers," featuring The Honorable David F. Hamilton, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. The event took place at the Birch Bayh Federal Building and United States Courthouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. During the program, Judge Hamilton discussed ongoing efforts to help proponents of democracy in Burma develop successful federal and state constitutions that will address the roles of ethnic, religious, political and economic diversity in a democratic Burmese state.
