Uncorrection: Roberts May Have Been In Federalist Society

July 25, 2005

ACSBlog previously reported that Judge John Roberts is a member of the Federalist Society. We later printed a correction, based on a Washington Post report saying that Judge Roberts was, in fact, not a member.
The Washington Post now reports that Judge Roberts was listed on the conservative legal organization's 1997-1998 leadership directory. Judge Roberts responds to this report by saying that he "has no recollection of being a member of the Federalist Society, or its steering committee."

Re: Uncorrection: Roberts May Have Been In Federalist Society

Not grounds to block, I think, but something that gives the public a hint as to one's views and troubling if lied about or covered up. Cover-up worse than the "crime" then, to me.
