Senator Joe Biden (D-De) just completed his speech on judicial nominations and the "Constitution in Exile." In his speech, Biden accused conservative jurists and constitutional thinkers of placing the interests of the powerful ahead of the people, while at the same time forcing government into people's private lives.
Biden identified two problems with the conservative "Constitution in Exile." One is the belief that government may intervene in people's private lives, including their bedrooms. The second is the Constitution in Exile's tenant that the federal government should be stripped of much of its power to protect workers, the environment, and victims of violence.
