Nicole Flatow joined ACS in July 2010 and currently serves as the Associate Director of Communications. In this capacity, she works with the communications staff to educate our members, the media and the general public about ACS’s work and priorities. Among her major responsibilities are outreach to traditional media, overseeing the blog and social media, and developing publications and other materials.
Before joining ACS, Nicole was an assistant legal affairs editor for The Daily Record in Baltimore, and before that, a legal fellow at Bread for the City, where she represented low-income D.C. residents in housing and public benefits matters. Prior to law school, Nicole worked in journalism at both legal and general circulation newspapers.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2003 from Binghamton University (State University of New York), where she was editor in chief of her college newspaper, and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2008. During law school, she was on the boards of the Public Interest Law Association and the Center for the Study on Race and the Law, and served as co-chair for the Conference on Public Service and the Law.
