Mark Tushnet
William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law, Harvard Law School; Contributing Author, The Constitution in 2020; Author, Why the Constitution Matters

 

Professor Tushnet specializes in constitutional law and theory, including comparative constitutional law.  His research includes studies examining the practice of judicial review in the United States and around the world.  Professor Tushnet writes extensively in the area of legal and constitutional history, with works on the development of civil rights law in the United States.  Currently, he is working on a long-term project on the history of the Supreme Court in the 1930s. This fall, Professor Tushnet is organizing conferences on American constitutional development as well the world's constitutional courts.
